Los Angeles Engagement Session Photography: Jenny & Jon

Today I’m posting up some photos from Jenny & Jon’s engagement session that I shot last July. Their wedding took place a couple of months later in September, which I also had the opportunity to shoot. I’ll share their wedding photos a little later, but for now here are some of their engagement photos. Since I’ve already prepared a slide show of the engagement photos for the couple back in July for them to share with family and friends, the photos I’m showcasing today are those that weren’t in the original slide show (to provide a little more variety).

To start off the shoot, we headed back to the couple’s old stomping grounds… the fantastic UCLA campus.

These two were the easiest couple to photograph ever. Unlike other photo sessions, no “warm up” period was needed before these two got their groove on. They were both very comfortable in front of the camera and right off the bat were ready to get their mojo on.

Doing the Titanic thing.

Both were like actors… I instructed them to smile and to look into each others eyes with passion and they delivered immediately.

A shot taken under the arches at historic Royce Hall, which was built in 1929 as one of the first campus structures.

Taken in front of Powell Library.  Boy, I haven’t been back on this campus since I left as an undergraduate over a decade ago.

I asked for more passion, and they gave passion with feeling.

Here we are are near Janns Steps.

After UCLA the next stop was the beach.

It was a hot day and it got even hotter as Jenny & Jon brought the heat with them.

I asked for happiness with laughter and again they delivered instantly. If all shoots could be this easy…

Love the light as the sun begins to set.

Jenny really knows how to work the camera. The next three shots were all done without any instruction, she just did her thing and I just snapped the photos.

They were in their own world at this point.
