Ayanna’s 1st Birthday

I had the privilege this past weekend to photograph my friend Ruta’s lovely daughter Ayanna on her first birthday party. I can’t believe it has already been close to a year since I last photographed Ayanna, back when she was only a month old! Where did all the time go??? (On a side note, the rate at which time has been flying by has been a bit scary for me lately. I don’t feel that old but I am aware that I’m getting old. Just the other day it took me nearly 20 minutes before I realized that someone had changed one of my car’s radio station presets so I was listening to 104.3 MYfm! Pretty loud too!! What the heck? I’m getting old and soft, and I don’t like it! Before you know it I’ll be a KOST guy, listening to Southern California’s signature soft rock. Having said that though, I must admit it can be pretty relaxing at times driving along the SoCal coast while Colbie Cailliat comes on the radio. I’m just saying!)

Anyhow, sorry to digress. Here are the photos taken that day of the lovely party and the beautiful birthday girl…

After that day I now know that whenever I take photos of kids in the future, I’m bringing along with me a bubble machine! Kids love it!!

The other adorable kids at the party…

Worth every penny!

The following are some photos taken with 120 film (Fuji Pro 800Z):

I think the kids were getting sick of having a camera in their face the whole day.

Love the photo below! The only thing that would have made it even better is if our friend Erin was also in it.  Love you Tenacious!

Are you able to tell the difference between the digital and film shots?

Back to digital…

One last outfit change to end the day…

Last shots of the day taken with film:

terrini Thanks for the kind words everybody, I appreciate it. It’s easy to shoot these photos when the subjects look so darn good!
