China 2010: Wulingyuan

The next stop on the trip was the scenic area of Wulingyuan in Zhangjiajie city. The day got started with some lunch…

The weather wasn’t that great the two days we were there, as there was a lot of haze everywhere (especially the higher up we traveled). However, while the photos may not show this, it was crazy hot and the humidity was off the charts!

The landscape here is said to be the inspiration behind the floating mountains used by James Cameron in Avatar. The local tourism board is definitely trying to capitalize on its connection to the film.

terrini It’s just rice… not sure if the yellow color is for appearances only, but it tasted like regular rice to me.
