Aging with the City

Another year, and another set of photos from Hong Kong. Over the years I’ve taken countless photos of this city, to the point where many of my shots are taken at the same locations. But while the locations might be the same, the photos are not the same. Time has changed. I’ve aged, the city has aged. I’m aging with the city.

(Tech note: All colored photos were shot on consumer 35mm Kodak Ultramax 400 and Fuji Superia 400 films, overexposed and scanned by the lab to produce a sort of washed-out film look reminiscent of photos taken back in the late 70’s. All black and white photos were shot on Kodak BW400CN and Ilford XP-2 Super films.)

Yumi These made me stop and catch my breath. I love Hong Kong and miss it so much! Beautiful photos, you captured the charm and idiosyncrasies of the city so well.

terrini Thanks so much Yumi! I always take way too much photos when in HK. I guess I’m just drawn to the energy of high-density living. I also have a ton of digital shots to post as well, as soon as I’m done going over them.
